SENATOR VANCE APPOINTED CO-CHAIR OF THE SENATE GREAT LAKES TASK FORCE

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Senator JD Vance (R-OH) announced his appointment as Co-Chair of the Senate Great Lakes Task Force, a bipartisan organization which works to enhance the economic and environmental health of the Great Lakes.

Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) will serve alongside Senator Vance as the task force’s other co-chair. Senators Todd Young (R-IN) and Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) will serve as vice chairs.

“I’m eager to get to work protecting the Great Lakes, which play a vital role in the lives of Ohioans and people all over the Midwest. These lakes support thousands of jobs, billions of dollars of economic activity, and provide a reliable source of drinking water for millions of families,” said Senator Vance. “The people of Ohio deserve a bipartisan, whole of government approach to the problems affecting our abundant natural resources. That’s exactly what this task force aims to provide and I’ll do all that I can to ensure the Great Lakes are protected not just today, but for generations to come.”
